Career and College Promise (CCP) gives high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to get a "jump start" on a two-year or four-year degree while still in high school. Best of all, it is tuition-free; however, high school students must pay college fees beginning Spring 2017. Qualified students can earn college credit while still in high school. Students are dually enrolled in their high school and at Central Piedmont Community College allowing them to receive both high school and college credit for courses taken through the program.
Here are ways students have benefited from Career and College Promise Program during the 2016-2017 academic year at CPCC.
College Transfer Pathways: We offer 4 different pathways designed to meet your general educational requirements for a 4 year college degree. You must have a weighted 3.0 grade point average and demonstrate college readiness on an approved placement test.
Career and Technical Pathways: We have over 25 different pathways created to help you get a head start on a great career. These classes do not require test scores and if your GPA is not quite at the 3.0 level, you can still participate with permission from your principal. You have to be ready to excel!
